Aussie icon Steve Irwin , better known as the crocodile hunter, was killed earlier today in a freak accident after being stung by a stingray in his chest.

It was a pretty ironic way to die considering how he was actually built his fame on frolicking with crocodiles. Apparantly, he died while filming a segment for his eight year old daughter's tv series.

Well, there goes yet another TV icon from the collective childhood of we gen y-ers. And i thought i wasn't that old. May he find eternal glory in TV heaven alongside the likes of the yokuzuna, owen hart and eddie guerrero, and remembered in the fondest of memories of anyone who was a kid of the early nineties.
